Independence

Aside from a welcomed midweek break, the fourth brought a day of relaxing (by the air conditioner) at my friend’s place in the West Village and an evening of fireworks at a rooftop gathering. For the occasion, I wore a navy and white printed dress with a statement necklace that just screams America. I opted for a low key wedge, as opposed to the stilettos that I tend to gravitate towards, to keep the look casual and easy. I hope everyone enjoyed their day of the red, white and blue accordingly!

Mini Me

Since this skirt is a little more mini than my usual work day fare, I paired it with a simple blouse and blazer for some extra coverage up top. The embroidery and tie dye detailing make it a fitting option for these hot summer days and nights. My love for pointy pumps marches on with these purple beauties I picked up to replace this pair that I had worn down to a nub. After a wedding weekend of much adored quality time with my friends, I am looking forward to celebrating the 4th and vegging out as much as possible.

That’s So Beachy

So far this summer, I have been embracing the most beachy of looks on the weekend, but yesterday, with this crisp lace dress, I was able to remain beachy in the office as well. What a relief! I paired the frock with a crystal-shaped cage necklace and a bright sandal for a pop of color. Naturally, I’m already thinking of how I can make this dress work this fall with this jacket, these booties and of course a statement necklace.  I’m rounding out the work week today and heading to Indy tonight for my one of my best friend’s much anticipated nuptials. It’s party time!

Hip To Be Square

Last week, I bopped on over to my friend, Diana Warner’s, namesake boutique for the one year anniversary celebration for her store. For the occasion, I wore this dress I scored at the Tibi sample sale (along with this dress). As per usual, I had to have it hemmed, so the tension was mounting as I waited to wear it. To keep things simple and polished, I wore my classic nude pumps and a metallic clutch to top off the look. After a weekend of beaching it in Montauk, I’m feeling refreshed and ready for a week of work before heading to one of my best friend’s weddings. Happy Monday!

Jewel Heist

One of the most trusty sources on the Internet for statement jewelry, Charm & Chain, is having a summer sale. While perusing to decide which piece I should pick up for myself, I decided to share my favorite picks in an attempt to prevent sensory overload. I’m leaning towards the turquoise and silver Lulu Frost bracelet for myself, but then there’s also the gold Kenneth Jay Lane necklace. Oh the agony! Run, don’t walk people!

Creamsicle Dream

One of the perks of working at a magazine company is that the cafeteria can be an outfit inspiration mecca. Last week during a particularly crowded day, I admittedly spotted a girl in these amazing orange pants and had to have them for myself. After a quick one, two, Google, I found them on sale and snagged the last pair in my size. It was fate. They have so many features to love – edgy zippers along the seam, a perfectly pale orange hue and an overall athletic aesthetic. I topped them with an open shoulder blouse and basic nude sandals for now, but I’m already thinking ahead to what sweaters and furs I can pair with them this fall!
